time out from the world

I know my safety will always be guaranteed. :-)

just trying to get away from this sleeplessness

We watched Pure Saturday last night. The featured artists, the eye visualizations, and the water colored images... it was wonderful :-)

...will be going home to an empty house

Things will never feel the same from now.

Anyway, These R Fake had been on two stages for the past couple Saturdays.

An accoustic performance on "White House Black Market" at Black & White Cafe

A taped performance on Friendsbook by PJTV at Lucky Square Mall

Quite nice for farewell stages. Huhuh. Hey Brother, bear deeply in your mind that you are still not allowed to leave Bandung completely for good this time.

2009 already

I decided to do a recap for 2008, since (as usual) I don’t have any resolutions for 2009. Hahaha.

On January I decided to perm my hair and I still can clearly remember the txt conversation that happened between Kak Pepi and I in the middle of my hair-perm session.

The saloon was playing the radio through the speakers and it played Agent Provokateur’s “Mama Medusa”. I was surprised and I grabbed my cellphone in instance, txting—of course—the lady behind the song. The reply I got was jaw-dropping for me—still does until now, actually. Well, I forgot the actual words but generally, she sadly informed me that she had already resigned herself out of the band and, here comes the shocking part, she offered me to form a new band.

So, that was actually how These R Fake began.

Anyway, here’s the picture of me, permed.

February, let’s see…
Actually, all I can recall from February-March was how I was too emotionally getting GME2008: “Cakrawala Apresiasi” done. Can’t think of other things during those rough times. Oh, that, and These R Fake’s first public performance (or so) on Ardan Radio Interview.

And of course, the unforgettable…

Bjork’s concert. Aaaah, lalalala~

Okay, April.

GME on 11th, and OZ Box Show on 26th. I was actually enjoying my past-GME joblessness for almost the whole month. It was not as good as how I thought it would be, though. Because…

On May I took responsibilities for two more other secretary positions—INDDES President Election and Heartbreak Night—and one publication division coordinator for Mustang Oldies. Phew! Oh yeah, I was officially introduced to Dafi during those “Heartbreak Night” thing. Ironic? No, I prefer Iconic. Hahahah.

June, June, June

These R Fake’s video audition for L.A. Lights Indiefest ‘08, err.. let’s see… Urbanfest ‘08, Vincent Vega’s Album Launching, and… cutting my hair short, most probably because the perm started to look funny, in an uncomfortable way, of course.

And I am obviously delighted by the fact that the first picture of my then-new haircut was taken with Anindita from Santamonica. Yeaay!

July was when the family trip to Albany, NY happened. Oh, I love those suuuushi nights-in.

If there’s anything happened on August that I consider remarkable, it would most probably be those moments with me, thinking. I was actually thinking a lot during the month…

Too much that… I decided to break up my one-and-a-half year relationship on September, at the beginning of Ramadhan. Nothing more to discuss about this. Well, I went to Bontang to spend my Lebaran Holiday with—of course—my family.

October. Mark the 26th. And These R Fake was taking an unplanned hiatus started this month. It was a-w-f-u-l. Huhuh. And my brother got his undergrad degree!

November… November? Oh sure, These R Fake was busy recording the songs on the studio for the sake of some higher-quality demo CD. TRF also got offered to make a video clip. We decided to make the video of "Stressor Kompresor" which you can listen to here.

December

Well, actually, I just lost my mood at the end of the recap, that’s what’s happened :-P Anyway, some unimportant things I marked on 2008:

  • Migrating from XL to IM3 (believe me, this actually turned out to be a matter for someone. Ewh)
  • Nastysaint Tells
  • I have gone through the current past weeks without any journals, because my last one had reached its end on November 26. Haven’t got the chance to buy the new one until this moment. And I am totally craving for it. This is the first time for years that I don’t have any journals to be written.
  • My 20th birthday present… :-D

    As for music…

  • Keren Ann
  • The Ting Tings
  • David Cook’s “Always Be My Baby”
  • Copeland
  • Paramore
  • Santamonica
  • The Sounds
  • d’Sound
  • Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” and “Better In Time”
  • Depapepe
  • RNRM
  • Mogwai’s “I Know You Are But What Am I?”
  • Hooverphonic

    Classes I took this year…

  • Product Design II&III
  • Digital Modeling I&II
  • Ergonomic for Product I
  • Design and Lifestyle I
  • Product Marketing Management
  • Product Design Method
  • Leadership
  • Design History
  • Sustainable Design
  • Product Semantics II
  • Practical Product Workshop
  • Presentation Technique II
  • Principals of Engineering
  • and one Event Organizer Seminar with Adrie Subono

    Books…

  • The Art of War for Women
  • How the Rich Get Thin
  • My Sister’s Keeper
  • The Harsh Cry of the Heron
  • Product Design
  • French Women Don’t Get Fat

Oh wow this posting has grown way too long. Hahahah. Wish me a happy new year, everybody, because I do wish everybody to have a good 2009! :-)
